This policy explains how AOS Software Limited handles personal data in connection with this website and with enquiries sent to us. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

This website has no contact form, no sign-up, no advertising and no analytics or tracking cookies. We do not build a profile of you and we do not share anything with advertisers.
Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., processes standard technical information in order to serve pages to you — including your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request and your browser's user-agent string. This is ordinary web server logging, it is necessary to deliver the site, and we do not use it to identify individuals.
If you contact us we will hold your name, your email address, anything else you choose to tell us and our correspondence with you. We use it to answer you and, where relevant, to keep a record of what was discussed about your business.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has approached us about our product — and, where a discussion becomes a commercial one, taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
We keep enquiry correspondence for up to two years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or an ongoing business relationship means we need it for longer.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it except with the service providers who make our business run — currently our website host and our email provider — each of which processes it on our instructions. Some of those providers operate outside the United Kingdom; where that is the case, transfers are covered by the safeguards permitted under UK data protection law.
We may disclose information where the law requires it.
This policy covers this website and enquiries to us. It does not cover the AOS software, which is not yet generally available. When a salon uses AOS, that salon is the data controller for its own client and staff records and AOS Software Limited acts as its processor under a written agreement. That agreement, not this policy, governs how such data is handled.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email nn@aos.salon. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
